The summer was filled with Fin action across the Canary Islands. Fuerteventura and Tenerife were set to be the stage for the two SlalomX events of 2025.

Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura basically had dream conditions: 30 degrees, blue waters, and wind between 20 and 35 knots every day. Each day of the competition brought insane racing conditions, and we managed to complete a total of 12 eliminations.

After starting the opening day with a 5th and 6th place, I found my rhythm and started to have the event of my life. For the first time in my career, I managed back-to-back elimination wins, and after eight eliminations, I was only one point off the lead.

Despite missing the last three eliminations, I managed to discard those results and still finished 4th overall for the event. A good result, but left me with a feeling of : ‘what if

Tenerife
Straight after Fuerteventura, I flew home to get my shoulder checked. After a couple of days of rest due to concussion signs, the doctor determined that going to Tenerife could be slightly painful but shouldn’t cause further damage, as there were no signs of tears or ruptures in the muscles. I was glad I made that choice, even though conditions weren’t on our side. Over the 10 days of competition, we only managed to complete 4 eliminations. Despite the limited number of races, I performed well and finished on the podium in 3rd place for the event.

That 3rd place also secured 3rd place overall for the 2025 season, achieving a long-time goal of finishing on the podium in the year ranking.

Completely satisfied with the result, I rushed back home, as it was time for the next big event: the birth of my second son.
